God’s glory and splendor for all displayed
Eternal power and divine nature
Revealed so all men are without excuse
Yet we turned our backs and covered our eyes
We cast him off and coveted his throne
And our foolish hearts were darkened
He gave us life and every breath we take
Light to sustain us and rain for our crops
Nurturing care for the just and unjust
Yet claiming to be wise, we became fools
We label evil good and good evil
As our foolish hearts are darkened
He turned us over to depravity
Consumed with lusts and our evil passions
We have hated both God and our neighbor
With murd’rous rage through gritted teeth we shout
My will be done, to hell with all the rest
For our foolish hearts are darkened.
We’ve been blinded to all that evil’s wrought
Our hearts as dry as the parched desert sands
Opposed to our Creator’s perfect will
Relationship with Father forsaken
We need His Living Water, Light and Life
Lord, please save our foolish hearts from darkness!
